Aka Mao, or Red Devil, is a high-quality white koji based sweet potato shochu that has been matured in an earthen pot for one year, giving it a sweet, mellow flavor. As it enters, full aroma of baked sweet potato spreads nicely. Rich Umami and sweetness of sweet potato lingers on to the finish. A well-balanced shochu this Red Devil can be enjoyed with hot water, or with a touch of water and ice to mellow it out if it being paired with food.

Tastes like plain old sake to me. But then I don’t have a very sophisticated palate.
